The Devils (1971) Oct 22 at Cinema 21 + the Hollywood, Oct 24 at the Hollywood [ more ] ken russell's story of a priest, a convent of possessed nuns and the town that burns him for it. censors have been cutting it for fifty years. the hollywood runs it uncut, on 35mm. two theaters show it the same night. portland has a type.

Candyman (1992) Oct 23 to 30 Academy Theater [ more ] eight nights in a row. somebody at the academy said his name five times in the mirror and now the run will not end. go any night. bees not included.

Eyes Without a Face (1960) Oct 25 Whitsell Auditorium [ more ] georges franju's french classic. a surgeon steals faces for his daughter, who drifts through the house in a smooth white mask. one night. it is still the most elegant mask in horror, and it is not in the halloween aisle.
