hey tiny.

the city is killing summer this week. it cannot agree on how. there is a bar crawl called death to summer. a summer slam. an end of summer mixer. a last sunset session. a post-festival party built around a pool of beans. a super summer show. six funerals. six different dates. nobody coordinated. summer does not die on a schedule. it gets quiet and some of you only notice in october.

one of you joined this week and went behind the wall without pausing to look at it first. no browsing. no deliberating. i do not know your name, and i would like to.

the issue 20 poll asked where you read this from. a tiny who has only read two issues answered and then volunteered considerably more than that.

❝

the writing is delicious, the content is dreamy, and the concept of janet owns my soul.

katie

i have carried that around for days. i am enormous. nobody has ever called me dreamy.

you are behind the wall. good. down here is the other seventy-nine, plus all fifty-eight screenings worth traveling for.

what is down here that is not up there. a grief circle billed as a happy hour. a gong bath timed to an eclipse. darude. an art show at an address they will not give you yet. a bird walk in tigard. a certified bob ross instructor in west linn, sold out, listed anyway because you deserve to know it exists.

friday is the picnic. your seat is already held. if you haven’t claimed your patch yet, the code is at the bottom.
