hey tiny. this is issue 05.

a massive welcome to the new readers bleeding over from the music oregon may newsletter. respect that non-profit for keeping your scene breathing.

down on the surface, some of you ripped the bronze animals straight out of arbor lodge park. if you wanted heavy metal woodland creatures, you could have just asked me to yank them out of the dirt. meanwhile, the city council is slapping a new transportation fee on your wallets to fix roads destroyed by corporate delivery fleets. you pay for the asphalt, they grind it to dust. tax the fleets, you cowards.

the ground level is a scam, but the underground provides. since the fake park animals are gone, this issue features workshops where you can taxidermy actual dead squirrels and opossums. plus darkwave, emotional hardcore, and aunt svetty’s may astrology column so you know exactly which planets to blame your bad decisions on.

finally, i see your coffee donations and i am grateful. but we haven't hit the april goal yet, and watching you scurry takes energy. my mug is a municipal water tower. fill it up.

scroll down.
but first forward this to a friend and expand the hive.

[ STARGAZING ]

the stars are shifting. i know this because they keep brushing against my forehead. aunt svetty has translated their movements into her may astrology column so you tinies know exactly what to blame your bad decisions on this month. read it and brace yourselves.

Little niblings tug my skirt and puzzle at me, “Aunt Svetty, can you really tell the future?”

“Yes, dear ones, I can tell you one thing for sure!  None of us get out of this life alive and that’s a prediction you can count on.  Death is the future for all of us.   All the people you love will die.   All the people you hate will die.  Some will starve, some will be killed, some will choose a cryogenic life, but never be woken, so have they really escaped death?   They have not.  What are any of us going to do with Walt Disney’s head anyway?”

We start May with the Moon full in Scorpio.   It’s an Intense time.   The United States government is about to Thelma-and-Louise over the cliff edge, and Honey, you know we are all too obsessed with sex and death and money to notice.   Hey!   I’m snapping at you!   I don’t know what you’re obsessed with, but the world needs you to look up from what you’re doing and pay attention to your surroundings!   Hey, you’re part of a community that cares about you!   Please make sure you’re not lost in whatever it is you’re lost in.   Watch where you’re going!   I know you want to get to the heart of what’s important to you, but let’s not forget our daily responsibilities and the people counting on you.  Hey!  I’m talking to you!

Thankfully Mercury enters Taurus on the 2nd and brings stability and calm.  Can we slow down and be a bit more practical?   The Moon enters Sagittarius on the 3rd and we all lighten up.   The intense feelings and obsession with intimacy and our desires has passed.   On May 6th Pluto stations retrograde.   Pluto is the planet of transformation and is now traveling  backward across the sky.  Paula Abdul says “I take two steps forward.   I take two steps back.”  Plans go on hold.    Let’s review the power dynamics we have bought into as a society.  Does it have to be this way? :  the people who seized the land, killed the natives, demanded authority over gender; seized the women, chased out the sacred two- spirits, burned the witches, raped the children, assigned value to human life with paper called money, and then we all paid money we earned to them so they could make bombs………. ?   Is that really the best we can do?  You know, the tech bros are planning a life where AI and robots replace the majority of humanity.   Plenty of drinking water to cool the AI machine when you’re dead and not drinking it.

May 14th, 2026 will bring profound clarity and there will be important news.   Mercury Cazimi in Taurus followed by a Taurus New Moon on May 16th.   Taurus is about food and the body and the bounty of the earth.   Please take care of your body.    It’s an ideal time to make a plan and stick to it.  Hold on!  Cazimi is too good of a word to not skid to a stop for a definition:  Cazimi refers to a planet being in the heart of the Sun.    Mercury is in the heart of the Sun shining in the Constellation Taurus!    Communications accelerates with  Mercury entering Gemini on May 17th.   Mercury is conjunct Uranus in Gemini on this day.  Unexpected information is likely to land.    Think outside the box.  Mars Enters Taurus on the 18th and Venus Enters Cancer.   Find love by caring for the people around you.     Sun enters Gemini on the 20th.  With Mars in Taurus and Venus in Cancer, we are focused on home and our loved ones.   A period of peace is likely, even if brief,    Seek sensual comforts that make you feel at home.   This includes people.

We end the month with a Full Moon in Sagittarius on the 31st.  It’s a lighter, happier full moon.   Maintain an open mind.   You may feel like your moods switched every couple of days this month and things moved a bit too quickly at times.   Speaking of time,  it doesn’t always move at the same pace,  and May 2026 is a fine example of time speeding up and slowing down however it pleases. Make sure you make time to please yourself.  In fact, listen:  your Aunt Svetty is gonna give you an energetic permission slip to enjoy your life.   If you felt like you needed a permission slip you just received one.    Can you feel it in your hand?  I just gave it to you.    Enjoy your life despite the pain and suffering and chaos going on around you, okay?  You were put on this earth to dance, feel joy, fuck, hurt, heal.   Don’t let them take a second of joy away from you.   Now, tuck that permission slip in your pocket.   You can write your own permission slip, you know, but this time I did it for you cause I see that you were standing around looking gobsmacked.    Now, get going.   The world needs your love and care.

Aunt Svetty has pressed her energetic lips to your cheek.  Do you feel the wetness?

Goodbye for now.
